Finess is a refugee once again in the Lusenda Refugee Camp in the Democratic Republic of Congo. When fleeing Burundi, she left behind her two daughters, but never gave up hope in getting them back. Women in her new community have suffered through sexual violence, discrimination and the loss of loved ones. Witness her courage and triumph through the power of UN Women’s safe spaces that promote education and vocational training, theater, song and dance, and solidarity.

UN Women’s Safe Spaces offer secure environments for women to earn an income and life skills training in humanitarian crises. Planned to highlight the affect of conflict on women, the film promotes the immeasurable effects of support programming for women and the double impact for communities through their economic contributions. First screened at the World Humanitarian Summit, the film will also support the advocacy objectives of the High Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment.
